In addition to their normal menu, Hammer & Nail also features various specialty nights, opening for dinner and offering different cuisine than that which is typically available in northern Michigan. You don’t want to miss out on this phenomenal establishment.
Don’t judge a book by its cover! When we first pulled up, their excellent reviews brought us to the door. I was not impressed from the outside, but you can see how much attention to detail and energy they have put into completely redoing the interior from the second you step foot inside! Everything looks brand new, well decorated, and carefully chosen, not to mention very clean. The tables were beautiful and even the dishes! Service was fast and accurate, and my husband’s skillet meal was absolutely delicious. I was not a fan of the biscuits and gravy (way too much pepper and the biscuits were a little tough) but they weren’t bad tasting, just not made to my liking. We both loved the bang bang shrimp appetizer! I also appreciated the cleanliness of the bathroom and that the portions were not too big.
Excellent! Fresh ingredients, great simple yet elevated menu. Friendly and attentive service! Truly a gem for Northeast Michigan! Worth the drive! Garlic parm fries, smash burgers and breakfast tacos are all AMAZING! Chefs kiss!
The staff is super friendly.. The owner came out to socialize and ask how our food was. Very cozy little restaurant. The food though 11/10 everything about it was perfect. I highly recommend the flame thrower burger out standing!!!!!
We love this up north restaurant. We aren’t locals but when you enter the place, you feel like family. When we do come to Barton City, we visit Hammer & Nail 1-2 times a weekend. The food is GREAT. The fish fry Friday is the best within a 50 mile radius. 10/10 recommend!!!
My boyfriend and I stopped in on 10/12/24 for breakfast. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. To top it off the owner came over & introduced herself; such a friendly group of people! We will definitely be back!
Food was FANTASTIC!! We came from Alpena and it was 100% worth the drive over. Super awesome employees and great atmosphere.
Amazing breakfast this morning (as always)!!! The special was eggs Benedict and it was outstanding... and YES... I ordered coleslaw as a breakfast side...because it is the best I have ever had!!! If it's on the menu.. order it you won't be sorry. Service was topnotch and the staff and owner are so warm, welcoming and friendly!!
